ABOUT SONO AUROS
The artists chose the name "Sono Auros” to reflect a feeling of antiquity. By using the latin words Sono "sound" and Auros “golden”, they want to convey that their sound is truly warm, golden, and otherworldly.
The flute, cello, and harp are known to be descendants of the earliest instruments in history. The timbre and tone can easily invoke sounds of ancient Egypt, of the Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical periods, and especially that of 20th century French Impressionism. Sono Auros is equally adept in performing 21st century music by utilizing extended techniques in their performance practice.
